Rev. Rachel Williams-Glenn or "Pastor Rachel", as she is affectionately known, has over 23 years of pastoral experience. She was ordained an Itinerant Elder in the AME Church on October 11, 1997 and licensed as a Marriage & Family Therapist by the state of Kansas on April 18, 2011. She's the Treasurer of the Methodist Ministers Fellowship of Greater Kansas City and a member of the 5th Episcopal District of the A.M.E. Church’s 5IT team which has coordinated the virtual and hybrid Annual Conference Series, Planning Meeting and Midyear Convocations since 2020. She’s served on the Board of Examiners which helps train candidates for ministry in the A.M.E. Church for over 23 years. She's written Sunday School curriculum for the A.M.E. Church Department of Christian Education, two original plays entitled "He Said She Said Part II: Our Story With God" and “Women of God Who Slay In Their Lane”; the second of which was based on the lives and ministries of deceased female clergy. She’s led mental health-related workshops inside and outside the A.M.E. Church on a variety of topics including life transitions, violence in the home, stress management, grief, parenting challenges, and how faith and mental health intersect. She's participated on panel discussions faith and culture in the workplace, unforeseen challenges facing teens and young adults post-covid as well as a talk-back sessions after two different plays on Black Women's experiences with faith, community and sense of self. She's participated in World Day of AIDS activities and World Day of Prayer Activities in Manhattan, KS and the first Juneteenth Holiday Celebration of the City of Independence, MO. She was the Coordinator of the Midwest Conference Women In Ministry of the A.M.E. Church from 2019-2023 and She served on the Independence Ministerial Alliance (IMA) Board from 2018 to 2022. She was also a member of Community of Concerned Citizens of Independence, MO and helped with the 2022 re-dedication of Young Park as well as hosting the 2021 Hybrid Black History Program and participating with the organization’s conversations with the Independence Police Department. She is also a praise dancer, poet, lyricist and singer. Pastor Rachel received the Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations & French from Drake University, Des Moines, IA, the Master of Divinity from Boston University School of Theology and the Master of Science in Family Therapy from Friends University, Lenexa, KS. She resides in Overland Park, KS with her husband Rev. Dr. V. Gordon Glenn, III (Pastor of Grant Chapel A.M.E. Church in Wichita, KS), and their daughters Denver and Virginia.
